Only the margin of safety of the image of a politician, public figure or businessman is able to withstand random or targeted information scenarios that carry negative of various origins.
Comprehensive reviews of how campaigns are ordered, how much it costs, and what tools are used, you can google and read, systematize ideas about the double or triple life of content on the Internet. In campaigns of negativity and discredit, familiar online resources play a big role, fires inflate Twitter, Telegram channels, and sometimes confidentially pour poison and personal messages on the LinkedIn business network.
Data analysis
Any person needs to live his life in such a way that Google knows about him. And in this joke there is a large share of the bitter truth of life – the need to be present on the Internet, i.e. the volume of mention of a name, brand, phenomenon, company name / product / service can be critical for modern sales, influence on social processes, and the results of political struggle. To understand the significance of one’s own information policy, in addition to Google search results, the assessment of the absolute numbers of publications, product positions, analysis of comments, information distribution networks, the duration of public outcry, and much more, which has been providing users with the Internet resource monitoring market for many years, is important.
Monitoring is different, the quality and capabilities, as in many other services, have original and borrowed technologies, and data is often resold. Monitorings are guided by information processes, fixing the number of publications and dates. For measuring one’s own information policy, it is important that such systems give the client what they have in the databases, and not answers to the user’s supposed disguised desires.
The next step in evaluating the effectiveness and predicting communications was the methods of mathematical processing of the dynamics of the mention of research objects, machine learning, and the use of neural networks. Today, the question of how to extract significant publications from a huge pile of information (read Big Data) and analyze them from the point of view of efficiency, security or development for the future is also relevant. The ability to work with various content monitoring systems or registries is critical for any modern investigator, especially a journalist.
Open Source Intelligence – Investigative Journalism
Even people who are very far from any intelligence have probably heard that intelligence obtains 80% of information from open sources, and only the remaining 20% – from special agents, spies or technical wiretapping. In investigative journalism, as in any intelligence, there is a place for agents: friends of friends, former and real partners, employees and much more. Agents are indirectly protected by the ability of a journalist (in accordance with the law) not to disclose sources of information. A lot of interesting things are extracted from the most unexpected and essentially different sources – Instagram photo reports, government registries or comments on posts.
The professionalism of the investigation begins with the formulation of the problem, the nomination of the version and the organization of teamwork. When planning work, methods and technologies for collecting and processing information, the depth of data search are determined. Methods of verification and validation of data are determined. The stage of data analysis includes comparing the information received, interpreting it, explaining the relationship of facts, rejecting irrelevant data, and predicting possible relationships. A whole science is devoted to the system of analysis of information sources, where for the media there are separate questions about the origin of primary sources, the possibility of pressure or corruption, independence from the type of content (video and article should not present different versions).
The team in the investigation must follow certain rules – criticality to the opinion of the majority, the distribution of types of work among independent groups. To eliminate possible bias, competition of hypotheses, solutions and search, comparison with the interests of one person should be ensured. One of the most common investigative mistakes is the decision-making by group opinion – no alternative or consensus, without communication or with very close relationships in the team, rejection of criticism not only from outside, but also within teams.
Crisis of confidence in investigative journalism
Now imagine when Order is added to typical and random errors, i.e. paid material under the guise of an investigation. Or even more – a paid investigation. Online mentions and what they look like

It can be seen that it was the past week that exceeded the amplitude of mentions over the past 4 years, while almost zero the entire Twitter period suddenly broke through with a small storm. It should be noted that the numbers of publications throughout the field are small, so 60 mentions already significantly affect the picture. For many politicians and public figures, we are talking about hundreds of thousands. But mathematics and formulas do not care – calculations and principles work for small amounts of data from fifty publications. What else is clearly visible – a weekend break between the two right highs – let’s remember this fact.

On June 21, 2019, materials on a given topic on other Internet projects continue to be published. A “true story” investigation appears, done in the style of an investigation, balanced by many different opinions.
Such material cannot be done overnight – any author of any real editorial material will confirm this. That is, in the evening, in one edition, an interview of the allegedly injured startupper appears, another edition develops the interview into a publication with a negative connotation that night, and the third edition already has material ready by the beginning of the next working day, which, in terms of labor intensity, takes at least a couple of days for a firefighter labor (or rather, a couple of normal working weeks).

The main thing in which is the versatile negative about Kolodyuk and his company, so far – about the AVentures investment fund.

On February 3, the beginning of a new week and a new publication from colleagues – and the song is old – since December, people have been researching who wants to raid Kolodyuk, then the holidays, AIN with their semi-annual labors, and finally, at noon, everything that was collected for two months was published .
It cannot be said that the material is completely without signs of journalistic standards – quotes from friends and enemies, new views on old problems, attempts to unearth facts and get the opinions of interested parties. But why put a title on the overclocking keywords of a clearly customized nature? Did traffic optimizers advise you to increase your SERPs on someone else’s hype? Fire these header makers, they are deceiving the target group and lowering the credibility of their own core project.

Taking into account that the January publication hangs under the “Editor’s Choice” plate, we will assign UAH 100,000 for such material. The publication includes posting on the project pages in social networks. It is difficult to estimate an overclocking campaign of more than a thousand dollars (link to material at the beginning of the study). Summer publications will be assigned at a price of 75 per piece with promotion. Those. with an annual contract of $ 11,000, rather a minus 50% than a plus. The legal entity on which AIN is registered is practically not found. For advertising, payment can be accepted by FOP of the 3rd group without VAT, i.e. annual income up to 5 million hryvnia with an unlimited number of employees and 5% income tax. Free systems for monitoring registers and links of entrepreneurs of sole proprietorships affiliated with personnel or management are not found. As well as the legal history of the creation and development of this project.
